The Chesley Horticultural Society begins its new year on January 21 2012 with a potluck lunch followed by the Annual Business Meeting , introduction of the 2012 executive and a slide presentation by CHS member, Wayne Pfeffer from his trip to South America .

The CHS objective is to continue with successful plant sales, maintaining Elliot Park beds, summer flower show, club bus trips and the annual Christmas potluck dinner.

This year CHS prepared framed Certificates of Appreciation for several member and community volunteers who donated their time and effort to various community gardens

The CHS fund raising projects assist the maintence of garden plantings, flower show and visiting speakers.
On going fundraisers include the Recipe book ,CHS Spring and Fall sidewalk Perennial Plant Sales and for spring 2012 there is a selection of gardening gloves available to pre order .

In 2012 the Chesley Society will be a recipient of the Grand Ole Opry presentation. Our society will provide ticket sales, promotions and the lunch at the November 2012 Grand Ole Opry event.

These funds supplement the grants provided by the local council and the OMAFRA organization for horticultural societies

Speakers and Workshops are presented over the year on the first Tuesday of the month meetings, held at the Klages Hall in Chesley.

Any general member can participate in an area of interest. The club welcomes volunteers for any of the committes behind the plant sales, the park beds, trips and flower show.

May we all work together,have great achievements but overall, a lot of enjoyment in 2012.
